If you are already troubled by the fact that we do not
have privacy online anymore, wait until you know how companies are using
location based monitoring tools to push their marketing on consumers.
Have you ever been walking down the street and a
message from a store around your location pops up with a coupon or an add on
your phone? Or while using your favorite social media platform and an ad of
your interest pops up on your screen? That was not by coincidence!
Companies now are using tools, like WeLink for
example, that allows companies to engage their potential customers with
targeted adds and instant offers based on their geographic locations, interest,
or their preferred social media channels.
very troubling fact that unfortunately has become a reality.
New York is a huge snow globe for me. If I must confess, I’ve never wanted to live in this shiny but messy snow globe. But, you know what they say ”don’t talk big”. So here I am. After my graduation from college, I decided to come to the U.S.A for my master’s degree. But […]
I have always had a very formal approach when writing almost anything. Maybe it is a career-style influence, but it was time to add some personality to my writings.
Please let me know what you think can be improved.
Working in an academic environment has always
been one of my longstanding goals. My
journey at the United Nations, allowed me to nourish this passion, as I learned
the crucial need of education in building sustainable, just and resilient societies.
My passion to spread awareness on issues as important as education enabled me
to excel at my duties, grow professionally and acquire many skills that would
make me a strong candidate for the position of Special Assistant for
Communications and Research in the Office of the President.
As a Special Assistant, I have had the
privilege to work with high level officials and executives. I have had hands on
experiences on crucial projects that are both critical and time sensitive and
require an utmost level of independence and professionalism, allowing me to develop
as well as a disciplined, attentive and positive attitude.
I have also established tactful,
diplomatic and excellent interpersonal skills, permitting me to thrive as a
Communication and Social Media coordinator. I have strong communication and
research skills, and the ability to simplify complex subjects.
Confident that my outstanding skills
and professional experiences make me a unique candidate for this opening and
would positively contribute to the advancement of the University- wide communications
and messaging goals, I respectfully enclose my resume for your kind consideration.

Anyone can relate to this article from the New York Times talking about when an injury sidelines runners from enjoying what they most enjoy in life. Being a runner myself, and always trying to avoid being injured, i can totally relay to how the writer is feeling, especially when she says: “If I hadn’t spent more than a decade doing this one physical thing that brings me so much joy — and has kept me healthy, happy and strong — I wouldn’t know what I was missing, and what I’ll be getting back to, sometime later this year.”
Everyone of us has this one thing in life that is so precious to their daily wellbeing. Once we get to be deprived from practicing it, we feel lost.
On this day, I wanted to introduce you, (if you haven’t yet), to the writer and poet who changed my perspective about so many things in life since i was a teenager, but most importantly his thoughts changed my perspective about love: Gibran Khalil Gibran- and he once said:
“When love beckons to you, follow him, though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him, though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him, though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you, even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.”
